JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fairfax County Sheriff�s Office is actively recruiting for energetic and professional individuals who are looking to make Honor, Courage, and Service a part of their career.
The Fairfax County Sheriff�s Office, in accordance with the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, is responsible for the following:
� Operation of the Adult Detention Center
� Security within the Judicial Complex and Courtrooms
� Civil Enforcement to include court orders, evictions, sales, and levies
� Operation of Residential and Community Treatment Programs
The Sheriff and his deputies are fully certified law enforcement personnel for the state of Virginia.
Full Time and Part Time positions are available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen
- be at least 21 years of age
- possess a High School diploma or GED
- possess a valid driver's license

In addition to base pay, annual pay increments are earned each year as well as cost of living allowance in most years. Applicants are able to receive additional compensation for college education, previous military and law enforcement experience.

New Deputy Sheriffs must complete 30 weeks of training at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy, which provides Virginia state certification in the following:
� Law Enforcement
� Corrections
