JOB DESCRIPTION
The Winston-Salem Police Department employs 514 sworn officers and 167 civilians and is located in the 4th largest city in North Carolina. As a Police Officer Trainee, you will be paid full salary while receiving comprehensive training through the Winston-Salem Police Department�s Basic Law Enforcement Training program. Upon completion of the recruit training, you will be responsible for protective service work as well as the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes. This work may involve personal risk and requires sound, independent judgment in all situations. The department provides all uniforms and equipment. In addition, Patrol Officers who live within the Forsyth County limits will receive a take-home patrol car. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- be a U.S. citizen
- be at least 21 years of age
- possess a High School diploma or GED
- possess or be able to obtain a valid North Carolina Driver�s License
- must be in good physical condition
- be of good moral character, having no felony convictions, serious misdemeanors or DWI�s within the past five years
