JOB DESCRIPTION
The City of Rock Springs Police Department seeks committed individuals for the position of entry level Police Officer. Becoming a City of Rock Springs Police Officer represents an outstanding employment opportunity for dedicated and career minded individuals. Starting wage is $3,902.00 per month with excellent benefits which include 100% pension contribution paid by the City of Rock Springs, 20 year retirement, health, dental and eye insurance; life insurance, optional 457 deferred compensation, one sick day and vacation day per month, 13 paid holidays, funeral and military leave. The department has a K-9 unit, Field Training Officer, Bike Patrol, Critical Accident Team, TRT (Tactical Response Team), and Street Crimes Unit. Officers are provided a take home car, uniforms, body armor, firearms, $660.00 yearly clothing allotment and other equipment. Candidates must reach their 21st birthday by the date of hire, and pass a physical performance test, an oral board interview and a written basic education test. Applications and all supporting documentation including the T.A.B.E. (Test of Adult Basic Education) are due September 12th, 2008 by 5:00pm.
