JOB DESCRIPTION
Patrols City in assigned Patrol car or on foot, enforcing laws and ordinances. Warns, Cites or arrests violators. Performs security checks of businesses or residences for suspicious conditions. Takes telephone complaints. Investigates complaints, accident scenes, major and minor crimes taking necessary corrective enforcement action. Interview witnesses and suspect to determine type of crime and proper course of action. Collect process and store evidence for use in court trial. Transport and book prisoners. Prepare clear concise reports for use in court trial. Provide demonstration on Law Enforcement to Civic Groups, Schools or Clubs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Vision correctable to 20/20 in at least one eye
